Our mission is to provide professional, expert psychotherapy that is conducive to producing results. We cater to each individual's needs by removing barriers to treatment; time, place and process. Our goal is more than talking, we are about transforming.
Our Process
We are an Avant-garde, concierge psychotherapy practice serving the Washington, DC area that is custom designed for each individual’s unique mental health needs. Our clients have discerning taste and appreciate this dedicated process that delivers results.
The point is Cook & Associates designs for you! Utilizing modern technology and approaches to enhance your experience while delivering results. We have a group of highly trained and skilled clinicians that will be matched to you. We can vary the time of each session and the frequency of session based on your schedule and of course the place.
We give each individual a free 30-minute consultation via phone in order to facilitate personalized recommendations through a Person-Centered, Strengths-based approach which will foster insight, introspection, growth and change.

Step Two: You will be given an appointment for a free 30-minute consultation, at which time you will discuss you counseling goals and determine a plan to achieve those goals. You will be matched with the therapist based on this initial consultation.
Step Three: Download the required forms and complete.
Step Four: One of highly skilled clinicians will be in touch to schedule an appointment.

Billing Practices
Your Investment and Commitment is Valued.
We’re mindful that therapy is a significant investment, and we highly regard the time, energy, focus, and money that you devote to therapy with us. Out of respect for you and your commitment, we take our work seriously and hold ourselves to an exceedingly high standard.
Paying for therapy shouldn’t be a confusing hassle. Here’s what you should know:
Like most therapists in DC, Cook and Associates is a fee-for-service practice. This means you pay for each session with your choice of credit card, health savings account (HSA), check, or cash. We then take over on the complicated stuff (VENMO, CASH APP, Pay Pal and VISA/MasterCard).
If you have out-of-network insurance coverage (for example, a PPO insurance plan), we will provide you with an itemized bill that you may summit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
After you have met your annual deductible, your insurance company will mail a check directly to you. Most of our patients are reimbursed 50-80% of our fees if they have out-of-network coverage.
If you have a HMO type plan, your insurance company will not reimburse you for Cook & Associate’s fees. To use benefits associated with HMO plans, you need to seek treatment from an in-network provider. (We are not in-network with any insurance companies.)
If you have questions about your out-of-network mental health care coverage, please contact your insurance provider for clarification. They will not share any information with us about your policy.
We bill monthly for all services, and ask that you pay within a week of receiving the bill.

A percentage of our profits are donated to National Alliance on Mental Illness. NAMI provides advocacy, education, support and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.
